Life Groups
The Ann Arbor Vineyard has a strong life group culture. We have a variety of life groups that meet throughout the week at different venues and we are always launching new groups To find out more about life groups contact the Lifegroups Coordinator, who will work on finding a life group to suit your needs.

Children
If you have an affinity for children, our Children’s Ministry welcomes you! Serving in Children’s Ministry is a fabulous way of getting to know children as well as their parents. Our Sunday morning team includes lead teachers and assisting volunteers for babies through fifth graders, as well as supporting roles like monitor, check-in station, and clean-up help. The commitment level can vary from holding a baby once a month to leading a class every week. We also appreciate behind-the-scenes help during the week to get supplies and class materials ready. View our Children’s & Youth ministry page to find out more information about getting involved or what’s available for our children and youth. For opportunities to serve in Children’s Ministry, contact our Children’s Pastor, Barb Hillaker.

Youth
We aim to provide an environment where our students have a chance to relax and get to know God in a setting that nurtures fun, challenge, and spiritual growth.

Care Ministries
We want our church community to be a place where we are known, a place where God’s love is reflected to each of us in practical ways. We weren’t meant to go through life’s challenges on our own, and we want to be a community that cares for each other through the whole range of life’s experiences. Whether it’s a crisis, or working through challenging personal issues, it can be helpful to have someone there to help along the way. Jesus said, “As I have loved you… love one another” (John 13:34). This is one reason we encourage everyone to be involved with a life group. However, some of our problems require more time and attention than a life group can provide. That’s where our Care Ministries come in. Not sure which resource to start with? Contact care@annarborvineyard.org and we’ll happily guide you through the process.

Justice and Compassion
As a church we are In addition to our interest in launching a free preschool for low income families in Washtenaw County by the fall of 2020, we are also interested in engaging other avenues of social engagement like forgiving past due medical debt, educating ourselves about the Cash Bail System and how it traps people in jail, engaging the human impact of immigration reforms and debate, continuing to do our part to reduce mass incarceration, and continuing our care for orphans, those in foster care, and those needing to be adopted. Finally, we are committed, as ever, to our weekly and monthly outreaches to those in the homeless community
Sunday Celebrations
The celebration team runs one weekend celebration: at 10:30 a.m. There are five roles that play an integral part in making these happen:
- Hosts – helping with “behind-the-scenes” tasks, like preparing coffee and communion
- Greeters – helping with the “up-front” tasks of greeting, serving communion, and collecting the offering
- Celebration Managers – acting as the “team lead” for a designated celebration, coordinating the team and making sure all the duties are covered
- Hospitality – The hospitality team prepares coffee for the Sunday celebrations.
- Ushers – This ministry provides a wonderful opportunity of sharing the love of Christ in a very practical way.
Being a part of the celebration team provides a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Christ in a very practical way and to participate with Christ in welcoming all people to His party.

Homeless Ministry
The volunteers of the Ann Arbor Vineyard Homeless Ministry head to Liberty Plaza Park in downtown Ann Arbor for food and fellowship every Friday evening of every month where they serve pizza and coffee, and hand out bags of food. They also distribute warm clothing and sleeping bags in the wintertime. They are an amazing team of people, and it is a humbling and also an enriching experience to serve the members of our community suffering from homelessness. Sign up for our Friday night outreach here! There are also other ways to join in with the activities of the Homeless Ministry, visit the ministry webpage for more information. For any additional questions about the Homeless Ministry or to find out how to volunteer, contact our Homeless Ministry Team.
